MILANO (AIMnews.it) – Fausto Manzana, President and CEO of GPI, spoke at the Summer School of Motore Sanità, which is under way in Asiago. The meeting will promote discourse between the operators in the sector on the need to use more effectively and pervasively the new technologies on offer for the management of Big Data. “The Summer School – said Manzana – is a precious opportunity to discuss what we can do to tackle and resolve the critical issues that put the resilience of our National Health System at risk. I think it is important to assess the new service models and innovations in technology.” For Manzana the health system in Italy is at a point of no return and it needs to move immediately: “I see no alternative: within a few years we will have fewer and fewer doctors and more and more patients, chronic or otherwise. We need to think about local medicine and give doctors the necessary support to decide the appropriate course of care, turning data (alot of it) into useful information for the doctor. And to do this, investing in information technology is essential.”
